The SCHEDULE phase begins at the conclusion of the Pre-Construction Services Agreement (typically an 8-week period).
At this time, you will enter into a formal Work Agreement for construction services with Ecofutures with terms that are mutually agreed upon. The Work Agreements includes a construction commitment payment, which is commonly 5% of anticipated building costs. A portion of this commitment payment is nonrefundable in the event the project is cancelled. Below is the typical chronology of events and activities you can expect:

Achieving a net-zero balance means first lowering loads as much as possible, and second, choosing a form of clean energy production such as on-site renewable energy in solar PVs, or through purchase of renewable energy credits. Skilled mechanical engineers, modeling software experts and building science consultants are among Ecofutures’ core team of designers to provide a comprehensive analysis of the home’s heating, cooling, and power needs & ensure an adequately sized system is installed.
Highest-efficiency photovoltaic and thermal energy systems are researched and selected to eliminate heat and electric bills powering the home, and providing clean, green energy to the electric grid.
Construction Timeline & Documents
At this time the construction phase of your project is locked into Ecofutures schedule. We’ll generate a detailed construction timeline for you so you can plan the rest of your life’s activities during this time period.
The schematic drawings are finalized and Construction Documents (what will be submitted to the local building department for permits) are produced. If you wish, we can arrange for a review of the drawings by a risk management consultant for peer review to focus on water incursion, and air & moisture management. Additionally, any environmental assessments will be completed and the process of obtaining the necessary permits commences. In tandem, your project manager will begin working with subcontractors and suppliers to get the best value for their products or services.
