Upon completion of your project, we’ll conduct a final walk-through to make sure you’re 100% satisfied with your new home. Our warranty program is activated and any equipment that monitors and verifies energy performance is installed.
Verification
Verification of the home’s performance is unique to Ecofutures as a builder. The road green building has followed to this point has been a path based on a system of checklists – checklists like LEED that lack a whole-systems approach to sustainability.
Ecofutures knew that for green building to be meaningful in the longer term, in terms of climate change and ecological footprint and carrying capacity, we would have to forge into the frontier of Life Cycle Impact Assessments. The green building industry has thus far generated complex checklists such as LEED to provide a road map to sustainable design. However, until recently these checklists have lacked a critical component, multi-point lifecycle verification.
For more than 5 years, Ecofutures has taken this extra step to close the loop and create multi-point lifecycle verification in our homes. Our services are truly a “whole-systems approach” to building and retrofitting homes for zero net energy performance. Not only is this good for the larger picture of climate change, but it’s good for your wallet!
